It’s so corrupt that any politics feel useless

Corruption, human rights violations, no nature, trash on the streets, bad public transport, high rents on apartments that are built very badly, not much fresh food available

There’s no single country that is The Greatest, but Finland comes close
What advice would you like to give someone who would like to live in/visit Malta?
It’s not the place to stay for the rest of your life, but a couple of years can be fun
Which city will you likely recommend to a foreigner to live? And why?
Sliema, St. Julian’s, Gzira, Swieqi, because that’s where all the other foreigners are
What places/things would you recommend people to visit/do?
Visit Blue Lagoon, Mdina, Valletta, eat pastizzi and drink Kinnie. Earth Garden festival is nice too.
What are the biggest misconceptions about Malta?
That it’s similar to Spain, Greece, Italy or other EU countries when it comes to quality of life
What are cons of living in Malta?
Thrash on the streets, corruption, very few shopping options, lack of nature, lack of fresh food, buildings are built badly, public transport is bad, working in construction is very dangerous
What are pros of living in Malta?
300 sunny days in a year, alcohol is cheap, it’s very easy to make friends with other expats, jobs are easy to find in the iGaming sector, you are never further than 5 kilometres from the sea

Spain, Italy, Portugal, Finland, Estonia, Denmark would be possible choices
What are things that are normal in Malta but may surprise foreigners?
No trash cans, everything is just thrown on the street to be collected. Fireworks during the day.
