What does being non-binary mean to you?
Non-binary can mean a lot of things. I use the label to describe how I don’t fit into the gender norms
What are your thoughts on the concept of gender?
I believe there are many more genders than just male and female.
Do you think society as a whole would function differently if no one was assigned a gender at birth?
Kids could play with any toys they like. Boys could play with dolls and wear dresses with makeup. Girls could play with water guns and cars. Adults wouldn’t be judged as much for being themselves as a bonus.
Do you feel like you were misgendered at birth? What do you wish that you would have been gendered as?
I was born an afab and hated it, and I wish that I wasn’t gendered at all
Do you consider yourself transgender?
No
Do you plan on transitioning in any way? Name change, pronouns, surgery etc…
I’ve legally changed my name, and I’m socially changing my pronouns. I’m waiting for a binder, but I plan to remove my chest someday.
What are your preferred pronouns and how did you decide?
They/Them, I’ve always liked using those pronouns and one day decided that it was mine for good
How strict are you with making sure people use your preferred pronouns and how vital are they to easing dysphoria?
I try to correct people whenever it’s possible to do so. It’s very vital
How soon after meeting someone do you explain your gender and ask them to use your preferred pronouns?
As annoying as it is, I’m pretty closed about my gender at first and plan to eventually tell them about how I feel in that sense.
What are your thoughts on dead naming?
It sucks; my dead name is one of the worst.
How would you describe your sexual orientation?
I’m bi and pomosexual

Not really

I’m mostly neither but like masculine clothes.

Yes, outside of the monthly schedule that I hate, there are other things that I have to deal with that are also a pain.
How often do you have doubts about your gender identity?
It depends on my outlook on myself.
How did you first discover non-binary?
A youtuber named One topic did a video on it.
How did you come to realise that you were non-binary?
Watching his videos and slowly discovering that I relate to a lot of things that are being said in them.
How did it change how you lived your life, if it did at all?
It removed a feeling that I had to be someone who I wasn’t

Sometimes
Why do you think it’s difficult for some people to grasp the concept of non-binary?
Because folk are used to each other’s genitals being the only way to describe gender.
How did you start to come to terms with your non-binary identity?
Living in my own space, I’ve slowly loved being myself.

Yes, mainly about myself, though.
What are things about non-binary you wish people understood better?
genders can be outside the box

Yes, I corrected some folk on how they identified me.
How did you decide who to tell and who do you tell now when meeting new people?
I decide on how folk behave; if they suck, I won’t tell them, but if I think they’re alright, I’ll come out about my gender.
How did people react to your coming out?
Some folk hate me now, and I’ve gotten kicked out of a house. But I’ve also had my fair share of folk who have accepted my gender.

That I’m agender too

It’s more complicated than straight dating, but I’ve managed to find someone

I don’t use them
How has identifying as non-binary affected your relationships?
I’ve had to ask a few more personal questions. There was also a strange stage since my gender changed quite a lot in my relationship, but things ended up being fine in the end.
What is it like using public restrooms?
It’s already tough since I don’t like using the toilet in public. However, there are plenty of gender-neutral bathrooms where I live, so finding one isn’t too hard.

I don’t want any kids
