How would you describe a barefooter?
Someone who enjoys the feeling of no wearing shoes.
How long have you been barefoot?
My whole life I have only worn shoes when I had too, so the majority of my 28 years.
Why did you decide to be barefoot?
I wasn’t even a decision. I just love the feeling of the ground beneath my toes.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how “extreme” are you?
On being barefoot? Maybe a 6.
What is your opinion on shoes and socks?
I don’t mind shoes. They have their purposes. I just tend to wear ones that are wide and don’t smash my toes together. I enjoy socks when my feel are cold.
Do you think being barefoot is socially acceptable? Why or why not?
Sure. I have no problem with seeing others bare foot and any situation.
Have you ever not been able to go in somewhere/refused service because you didn’t have shoes on?
No, I have not.
How do you go about feet care?
I usually keep my toe nails scrubbed with a nail brush and I file my calluses down every once in a while. I lotion my feet and I paint my toenails.
Do you wear foot jewelry?
I wear an anklet.
Have you dealt with fetishers?
No, I have not.
Do you walk on everything or are there surfaces you don’t walk on?
I personally do not like the feeling of the little holes in children’s playground equipment because it feels like it is pinching the calluses on my feet. I also do not walk on blacktop during the summer time because I live in the south where the temperature would burn the skin off of my feet.
What is your favorite surface to walk barefoot on and why?
I love the feeling of cool wet sand and thick grass.
What are the worst things you’ve stepped on?
A roofing tack, finishing nail, and wood splinters.
Have you had any mishaps?
I’ve broken my pinkie toe running barefoot and catching it on a bolt sticking out of a cement slab.
How do you handle cold temperatures?
Not very well lol. I’m definitely at hot weather person.
In your experience, what season is best to be barefoot?
All seasons. I live in the south where it never gets so cold that I can’t do that.
How does being barefoot affect aspects of your life (love, career e.t.c)?
It really doesn’t affect much. I do get a few looks sometimes, but I usually try to keep my shoes on at work.
What challenges do you run into (physically, socially e.t.c)?
I don’t like running through burrs and I don’t appreciate having cold feet.
What are misconceptions about being barefoot?
That your feet stink or they are dirty. I wash my feet and keep them clean and my feet stink less than if they were in shoes.
What advantages of being barefoot have you experienced?
My feet and toes are really flexible and my feet are tough.
What disadvantages of being barefoot have you experienced?
Really, just breaking my pinkie toe I guess. Lol
