This policy is meant to inform you clearly and honestly about how your information is handled. Certain actions on Texterview (such as submitting a Texterview or creating an account) involve the processing described below.

When You Submit a Texterview

What you share

When you submit a text or voice Texterview, you provide your story, your email address, and various preferences (such as content creation options, privacy settings, and third-party contact preferences).

Your email (required):

Completely private and never shared without your permission
Used only to contact you about your specific Texterview (publication notifications, edit or removal requests, and third-party opportunities that match your preferences)
Never used for marketing, newsletters, or unrelated communication

Your story:

The content you submit becomes your published Texterview after editing and formatting, based strictly on the consents you provide. This may include blog posts, audio episodes, and/or video content.

Your preferences:

Information about how you want your content handled (such as video consent and third-party contact preferences) so I can respect your choices exactly.

Account Information (Optional)

If you create an account to bookmark Texterviews, I collect:

Login credentials (email and password)
Your bookmarked Texterviews

This information is private and used only to provide the bookmarking feature.

Technical Information

Website analytics
I use Independent Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that:

Does not track you across other websites
Does not collect personal information
Does not use cookies for tracking
Stores all data on my own servers
Helps me understand how people engage with content so I can improve the site

Technical data
Limited technical information (such as browser type, device type, and pages visited) may be processed to keep the website secure, functional, and reliable.

How I Use Your Information

I use your information only for the following purposes:

For your Texterview

Creating and publishing your story in formats you explicitly consented to
Communicating with you about your Texterview (publication updates, content links, edit requests, removal requests, and relevant third-party opportunities)

For the website

Providing account features like bookmarking
Understanding how people engage with content
Maintaining website security and functionality
Improving the overall user experience

What I Don’t Do

I never:

Sell or rent your information
Use your email for marketing or newsletters
Share your personal information with third parties (except when legally required)
Track you across other websites
Use invasive analytics or advertising cookies
Train AI models using your content
Create or publish content formats you haven’t consented to

If someone wants to feature or license your Texterview:

I contact you first
Your email is shared only if you agree
You control all discussions and keep all revenue
I take no fees

I may share information if required by law (for example, responding to court orders or preventing illegal activity).

I may share anonymized, non-identifying statistics about website usage.

Your Rights and Choices

Content removal

You can request removal of your Texterview (in all formats) at any time:

I’ll remove it from platforms I control within 7 days
Complete removal from the internet may not be possible due to third-party platforms, caches, or archives outside my control

Account control

If you have an account, you can:

Update your login information
Delete bookmarks
Delete your account entirely

Content preferences

You can update your consent preferences for future content creation and third-party contact at any time.

Data access

You can request information about what personal data I hold about you.

Data Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including:

Encrypted website communication (HTTPS)
Secure storage of login credentials
Private handling of email addresses
Regular security updates and monitoring

No system is 100% secure, but I do my best to protect your information responsibly.

Data Retention

Your Texterviews: Stored until you request removal
Archival copies: Private, non-public copies of published Texterviews may be retained for internal record-keeping, as described in the Texterview Release Agreements. These are deleted upon removal.
Email addresses: Kept only as long as needed to communicate with you about your Texterview
Content preferences: Kept to respect your consent choices, or until you request deletion
Account information: Kept until you delete your account
Technical data: Kept only as long as necessary for security and functionality

Embedded Content

Some Texterviews may include embedded content (such as videos). When you interact with embedded content, the third-party site may collect information according to its own privacy policy.

Children’s Privacy

You must be at least 18 years old to submit content to Texterview. Browsing and reading Texterviews may be permitted from age 13 or according to your local laws. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the minimum legal age.

International Users

Texterview is operated using online tools and services that may process data in different locations. By using the site, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in these locations.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do, I’ll post the updated version here with a new “Last Updated” date. Significant changes will be clearly communicated.
