Is there a way to tell you apart?
I thinks there’s a TON of ways & some people see a lot and other claim that there’s not a single difference, but I know that’s not true lol! Personality, smile, face shape, I’m a tad bit taller, hairstyle, the way we hold ourselves, voices (although some people say they’re the same lol)

Nah that’s not real haha, but we are VERY close, so just like a best friend, it’s not too hard to tell what she’s thinking.
Do people mistake you for each other, how have you used that to your advantage?
ALL THE TIME. Typically it’s in passing, so we don’t bother to correct them, but sometimes it’s annoying lol. I think an advantage weirdly is knowing that the people in my life that don’t bother trying to tell us apart are not worth getting close to. And if people care about me as an individual, they will at least try to get our names right. Like some people just won’t address us by our names or anything lol
Did you ever dress alike?
Yes! I was often put in blue to match her outfit in pink
Favorite memory together?
Literally every time I’m with her (which is just about every day) it’s not uncommon for us to belly laugh like super hard.
(For Identical Twins) Do you ever do anything to look less alike?
For sure! For example we both play the same sport and get really tired of people making twin jokes, so I always wear my hair in one braid and she wears her’s in two.
Do you have the same personalities and interests?
Similar personalities that’s for sure. Yet different at the same time ? Lol. So for example 3/4 of our Myers Briggs letters are the same, except for the first where I’m extraverted and she’s introverted. Additionally I’m an enneagram 8 and she is a 2, so I am much louder and blunt and aggressive, whereas she is very gentle until she gets provoked and then she acts a lot like me. I would also say she views things by the small details whereas I am a big picture person. It’s kind of cool bcs we compliment each other in that way.
How do you celebrate your birthdays?
Depends on the year. Sometimes a party and sometimes we just get dinner with our family. Idk about when we’re older with our own families though. They have never been like the super special bcs it’s like both of us if that makes sense.
Have you struggled with your identity?
Yeah for sure! I had to grow apart from her a little bit to find out who I really am, but at the same time we’re closer than ever if that makes sense. I had to venture into hobbies that are all my own.
Do you sometimes compare yourself to your twin?
Ofc. Everyone else does, so it’s easy to. But it rarely bothers me.
What effects does being a twin have on your life?
It’s pretty dope. I would say though it changes what I expect from other relationships. I know I have my sister, so if someone doesn’t treat me right I just drop them, bcs why would I tolerate that when I already have what I need in her.
What are the most annoying things people have said to you about being a twin?
There’s so much to list lol. Mostly just unwanted comparisons that are really harmful. Like saying one of us is fatter or prettier than the other.

It must not have been important bcs I don’t remember.

That we are the same person. Like we act the exact same and are not individuals with our own experiences and opinions.

Just all of the unwanted comparison from people constantly. It’s pretty inescapable.

What are things to NOT say to twins?
“You’re the better twin.”, any form of comparison that is unwarranted or that is just straight up rude (especially talking about their bodies, just don’t do it.), “it doesn’t matter which twin I hang out with, you guys are the same person anyways!”
Say something to twins
Bro we have a relationship other people dream about tbh. But don’t forget that you are valuable all on your own-separate from your twin. They are your biggest supporter, but don’t ever think that you are not enough without them. Also try not to compare so much to them. Of course the world tries to compare you two. It’s natural. But let it roll off your shoulders. There’s more to you than what is superficial. You deserve to be recognized as an individual.
Say something to parents of twins
It’s ok if they prefer to play with each other, but definitely try to let them make some more friends too. Also please please please make sure that you view them as individuals. Take the time to hiking their attributes as two different people, not just “the girls are good at this.” Or “the boys are so smart.” Please make sure they both are recognized for their individual contributions. And another big part of this is extended family. Don’t let it slide when they lump them together or don’t bother to learn who is who. Let them know that their bond is so important but who they are alone is valuable all on its own.
Do you sometimes wish you weren’t a twin?
Yeah, I mean growing up there was just so much comparison. Especially physically. That’s not good for anyone, you know?
Do you actually like being a twin?
My sister is the most important person in the world to me. Idc what stupid crap we put up with, I would do anything for her and I know she would have my back always. She understands me in a way that nobody else ever really can. I wouldn’t give it up for anything.
